Naval Message RTDR 131825Z JUN 03 DOD PKI GUIDANCE COMNAVNETWARCOM states that ALL NAVY UNCLASSIFIED PRIVATE WEB SERVERS SHALL REQUIRE CLIENT SIDE AUTHENTICATION USING DOD PKI IDENTITY CERTIFICATES.
How to Obtain DoD/PKI Certificates
If you do not have a CAC or a software certificate, you will need to obtain one to access the PMA202 web site. Sources of this certificate depend upon your place of employment.
For military or civilian users, see your local Information System Security Manager (ISSM) / Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for information on obtaining and configuring your DoD user certificates for web access. Information pertaining to this mandate might be available on your local intranet web site.
For contractors that are supporting DoD government agencies, see your government agency's local ISSM for information on obtaining and configuring your DoD user certificates for web access. Also consult your local IT/Security department for more information.
For all other non-DoD personnel, you must purchase an off-site PKI certificate from an Interim External Certificate Authority (IECA) or ECA. More Information is available from DISA.
